Artistic Paula's Home Page

Welcome to my web-site. I have enjoyed crafting for many years and now that all my children are grown and gone, I finally have my art studio.

When I was 12 years old my grandmother gave me sewing lessons. I made a purple dress for me, a bathrobe for my mother, a tie and drawstring pants for my father. I look back and laugh because it had to be pure love that my father actually wore them outside of the house. I didn’t sew anything else for years. When I had my daughters, I made the occasional little sundress. It wasn’t until 2002 that I finally took out my old Singer machine and started playing with it. Years later and 2 new sewing machines I am making stuffed animals, totes, & funky quilts.

I enjoy painting on reclaimed furniture. My specialty is coral reef scenes on Children’s chairs. I also like to paint funky geckos on bar stools.

In 2009, my husband and I were visiting my brother and sister-in-law in New Jersey. While there, I was invited into her stained glass studio. I knew then and there it was something I just had to try. She gave me a quick, 101 on the basics of stained glass. I was hooked. In the 2 weeks we were there I was in her studio every day. That Christmas my husband bought me the basic supplies. I’ve been off and running ever since.

I created my first doll in 2010. She definitely grabbed a hold of my heart. I have made many dolls since that first one and they are ever evolving. Although I enjoy several different mediums, creating the dolls are the most rewarding.

Thank you for taking the time to look around. I hope you enjoy it and come back often. I will be ever changing my inventory.
