Artistic Paula About Me

My name is Paula Robbins. I grew up in a very small town in Connecticut. As far back as I can remember I have been around artistic people. My grandmother made many quilts in her days and the most beautiful large braided rugs, which were in every room of our house. My mother had her own pottery studio in our home. I use to go with her to all her shows and loved to walk around and see the other artists. I moved to Orlando in 1978 where I met my husband and have lived in Fort Myers, Florida since 1980. We have 3 grown beautiful daughters and I am now a proud Grammy. I have always had a love for the arts and crafts. I am a self-taught artist and enjoy everything from quilting, making stained glass, hand-painted furniture, cake decorating, and I now love making dolls. I don’t think I could ever pick just one craft to do, I enjoy them all. I have to say that the dolls are the most fun to make. I always start out with an idea in my head and as I begin to create her takes hold of my mind and guides my hands. All my dolls are bursting with personality. They have taken hold of my heart and I hope that they take hold of yours.
